About Katusiime Dorothy

A dynamic Project Coordination and Community Development professional with over six years of experience implementing community-based programmes, coordinating stakeholders, facilitating capacity-building initiatives, and supporting vulnerable populations through case management and economic empowerment interventions. She is a qualified Social Worker with extensive experience working with government agencies, community leaders, civil society organisations, and vulnerable households to promote sustainable development outcomes.

She has developed strong competencies in project planning and implementation, community mobilisation, financial literacy training, stakeholder engagement, proposal and concept development, report writing, case management, documentation, monitoring, reporting, and accountability.

Community Development & Vulnerable Population Support

Her professional experience includes coordinating child protection and family reintegration interventions, supporting family tracing and reunification, facilitating counselling and capacity-building activities, and working directly with children, families, youth, and vulnerable households.

In her role as Resettlement Officer/Social Worker, she works collaboratively with probation officers, police, health workers, Local Council leaders, district authorities, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective programme implementation and support vulnerable individuals and families. She also coordinates community outreach activities and maintains structured case and programme documentation.

Project Coordination & Accountability

She brings practical experience in coordinating community-based projects from planning through implementation and follow-up. Her responsibilities have included preparing programme reports, activity documentation and accountability reports; supporting budget accountability; maintaining programme records; and documenting project achievements and success stories for learning and donor reporting.

She has also coordinated stakeholder meetings and community engagement activities, maintained beneficiary databases and records, supported beneficiary selection processes, and contributed to programme documentation and reporting.

Financial Inclusion & Economic Empowerment

A particular area of interest is financial inclusion and community economic empowerment. She has facilitated financial literacy sessions for vulnerable youth, equipping them with practical money-management and business skills for independent living.

Her experience has strengthened her appreciation of the role of savings, financial literacy, sustainable livelihoods, and economic empowerment in improving the resilience and wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities.

Governance & Secretariat Contribution

As Board Member & Secretary of I-HOPE Initiative Uganda, she contributes to the organisation's governance and institutional development through effective coordination, documentation, communication, record management, stakeholder engagement, and accountability.

Her background in community development and programme coordination provides the Board with a practical understanding of community needs and programme implementation, while her experience in documentation, reporting and stakeholder coordination supports effective organisational administration and governance.
