
Leonard Ogugu
A multidisciplinary public health and legal professional with experience and training in disease surveillance, maternal and safe motherhood systems, mental health, community health, outbreak response, health systems strengthening, and humanitarian programming. He brings expertise in health information systems, monitoring and evaluation, data management, quality assurance, public health programming, and evidence-informed decision-making. His legal and governance background further strengthens his understanding of human rights, ethics, safeguarding, confidentiality, consent, vulnerable-population protection, and accountable organisational leadership. His multidisciplinary training also spans occupational health and safety, environmental health and sustainability, health-risk assessment, workplace wellbeing, and psychosocial support. As a Board Member of I-HOPE Initiative Uganda, he contributes a distinctive combination of public health knowledge, legal and governance insight, analytical capacity, and commitment to strengthening community health, protecting vulnerable populations, and advancing sustainable, people-centred development.
